Senior Partner, Winning Strategies
Courtenay Higgins has worked in public relations and marketing for 13 years, the last 10 at Winning Strategies where she has helped shape Winning Strategies’ brand, services and reputation for quality and results. As Senior Partner, her responsibilities span client service and agency operations, with an emphasis on continuing to broaden the company’s dynamic interactive products and offerings.
Courtenay has worked across the spectrum of communications disciplines, with particular expertise in brand positioning, strategic messaging, Web communications and crisis communications. She has led dozens of award-winning initiatives for governmental, non-profit and corporate clients across a range of industries and issues, and is known for her ability to deliver compelling results under pressure.
While at Winning Strategies, Higgins has spearheaded the integration of interactive solutions with traditional communications practices. Her efforts have created dynamic and award-winning executions for clients such as Verizon, Allstate and The Mills, to name a few.
A New Jersey native, Higgins is most proud, however, of a seatbelt safety campaign she led to strengthen enforcement of the New Jersey law requiring drivers and passengers to buckle up in automobiles. The campaign won a PRSA Pyramid Award. She also relished her role in polishing the state’s image for the New Jersey Office of Travel and Tourism. She directed regional and national media outreach, and designed, developed and launched the inaugural addition of the state's first HTML-based, e-mail newsletter, which continues to attract visitors to New Jersey’s wealth of events, culture, history, arts and attractions.
Prior to joining Winning Strategies, Higgins was Director of Communications for the Republican State Committee in Trenton, NJ. She managed daily media operations and coordinated and implemented election-compliance operations statewide.
She researched and wrote remarks and reports for Governor Christie Whitman and other state leaders and government executives. She also helped coordinate and promote major events, such as the 1997 Governor's Gala, an annual fundraiser, and the 1998 Governor's Inaugural.
An alumna of Villanova University in Villanova, PA, Higgins graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in English and minors in political science and communications.
