Stevens Institute of Technology
Technogenesis

The term '"Technogenesis"' was coined by Dr. Harold Raveché, president of Stevens Institute of Technology, to describe the educational frontier where faculty, students and colleagues in industry jointly nurture the process of conception, design, and marketplace realization of new technologies. The Stevens’ trademarked philosophy term has become the defining concept of Stevens Institute of Technology and also the name of its cable television program, Technogenesis.

With cn8, The Comcast Network, Winning Strategies produces television's Technogenesis in conjunction with Stevens Institute of Technology. The purpose of the program is to highlight issues of interest to the public and discuss educational and technological solutions to some of the major challenges in today's world, including those solutions being developed at Stevens.

Winning Strategies oversees all facets of production, with special attention to topic development and guest recruitment. Topics have included homeland security, global landmine detection and cyber security, and has featured guests from NASA, United States Department of Defense, United States Congress, Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), various branches of the United States military, and high-ranking executives from such companies as AT&T and Verizon.

Technogenesis was the recipient of the 2001 Telly Award for outstanding non-network and cable programming. Technogenesis airs Sunday nights at 7 p.m., reaching more than 4 million households in the New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., markets.
